1973
In 1973 aged only 16, Dominic Snr started working with his uncle at the Coach & Horse pub. Almost from day one all he could think of was of running his own establishment. Having gained experience and built a network, he tried his luck with his sister and her husband.
1976
The Toby Jug restaurant was born and Dominic Snr was on the way up. Eventually, he quit his full-time job, bought out his relatives and became its proud sole owner. Always a believer that music was the future, the first change he made was to have a band play live while the patrons dined. Pushing the envelope, he soon hired a PA, turned the restaurant into a bar and started having DJ sets. The move effectively marked the dawning of the discotheque era in Malta. Sales skyrocketed.
